Arvest Bank Adds Schoenthaler to Board of Directors

Arvest Bank is pleased to announce Marty Schoenthaler has joined its local board of directors in Bartlesville.

Schoenthaler currently serves as CEO of Tate Boys Tire & Service. His previous professional roles included serving as vice president and chief information officer at Archer Daniels Midland, as well as senior leadership positions with ConocoPhillips and IBM.

“We are thrilled to add Marty to our board here in Bartlesville,” Arvest president Kyle Hubbard said. “In addition to his business acumen, his many ties – and years of service – to our community will be an invaluable asset for us here at Arvest. We couldn’t be more excited to have him join our team in this capacity.”

Schoenthaler also currently is a board member for both the Bartlesville Sports Commission and the Rogers State University Foundation. He earned bachelor’s degrees in business administration and computer programming at Missouri Southern State University, then a master’s degree in business administration at the University of Arkansas.

Schoenthaler and his wife, Kim, have been married 33 years and most enjoy time spent with their children and grandchildren.

I do not think you were considering your clients needs when you stop using deposit slips. Paperless may be a great thing for you, but for your consumer it does not work. If I need to KNOW where the money for my deposits is coming from, how can I do that if there is no paper trail. Which office made the deposit? What renter is paying rent? Is that deposit for the Cabin or the Guest House? These are the questions the accounting staff has to ask when balancing the books. So you tell me I can still use deposit slips, but I will have to buy them. REALLY? I need to pay you for the privilege of putting money in your bank! Money that you are using and earning interest on. I think this is a very bad decision and if you want us to continue banking with you, both personal and the businesses, you need to provide us, FREE of charge, the deposit slips. One of your tellers told me Tuesday, there was some sort of memo line you could use. This could show what apartment number or lot number was paying rent. I thought, OK, as long as I can see it online for balancing purposes, I can deal with that. But today, when I go to make another deposit, for another lot rent payment, they looked at me like I was crazy and said there was nothing I could see to show me what the payment was for.
